Hearing Delayed in Zachary Proper Case

OIL CITY, Pa. – A judge delayed a preliminary hearing for Zachary Proper, the 13-year-old Oil City boy who is accused of killing his grandparents.

District Judge Michael D. Snyder ruled to delay today’s preliminary hearing for Proper.

The hearing has been continued until October 31 at 8:30 a.m. in Venango County Central Court.

Virginia Garris Sharp, of Franklin, has been appointed by the court to represent Proper.

Proper faces two counts of Criminal Homicide in connection with the October 8 shooting deaths of his grandparents, George Fross and Dorothy Fross, at their Sandycreek Township home.

He remains in custody due to severity of the charges.
