Hearing for Franklin Man Accused of Leaving Two-Year-Old Home Alone Set for Wednesday

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man is facing a hearing on Wednesday on a child endangerment charge for reportedly leaving a two-year-old child home alone while he went to purchase cigarettes.

Court documents indicate 23-year-old Jeremy Lee Anderson Jr. is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in Venango County Central Court in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 10:30 a.m. on October 14, on the following charge:

– Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Felony 3

He is currently free on $2,500.00 unsecured bail.

The charge stems from an incident in late August.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:38 p.m. on August 23, Franklin Police received information about a child being left unattended and without supervision earlier in the day.

The complaint states through interviews and investigation, it was determined that Jeremy Lee Anderson Jr. willingly left a two-year-old child alone in his apartment on Pennsylvania Avenue without supervision.

During an interview on August 25, Anderson admitted to leaving the child alone in the apartment while he went to purchase cigarettes, according to the complaint.

Anderson was arraigned on the charge in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 8:35 a.m. on October 3.
