FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday for a Franklin woman charged with using methamphetamine while caring for a young child and resisting arrest.

Court documents indicate 33-year-old Angel Celinda Sneltzer is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in Venango County Central Court in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, on the following charges:

– Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Felony 3
– Resist Arrest/Other Law Enforcement, Misdemeanor 2
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

She is currently free on $15,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges stem from an incident that happened in Franklin in April.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, Franklin Police received a report around 10:00 p.m. on April 20, regarding an unknown female, later identified as Angel Celinda Sneltzer, acting extremely erratic while having a young child in her care.

Police proceeded to the scene and found Sneltzer outdoors, carrying the child to “random places,” the complaint indicates.

The child was wearing only a pair of sweatpants, and the temperature outdoors was approximately 35 degrees, according to the complaint.

Police then made contact with Sneltzer, who the complaint states was “acting extremely paranoid, violent, and erratic,” and was showing signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance, the complaint states.

When police attempted to place Sneltzer in a patrol vehicle for transport, she became “extremely violent,” reportedly kicking and thrashing at the officers. She also reportedly continued to kick the door and windows of the vehicle after being placed inside, according to the complaint.

Sneltzer later admitted to using methamphetamine while caring for the child, the complaint notes.

Sneltzer was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 2:10 p.m. on Monday, October 18.
