Hearing for Man Busted for Meth Possession, Prohibited Firearms Scheduled for Wednesday

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A hearing for a Utica man who is accused of possessing crystal methamphetamine and prohibited firearms is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

According to court documents, a preliminary hearing for 61-year-old Brice Allan Steetle is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m., with Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland presiding.

Steetle faces the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Make Repairs/Sell/Etc Offens Weapons, Misdemeanor 1
– Possession Of Firearm Prohibited, Felony 2 (six counts)

He is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail on $50,000.00 monetary bail.

The charges stem from a warrant served by agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office on February 17.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, on Thursday, February 17, 2022, PA OAG agents Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Drug Control and task force officers served a sealed search warrant at 1883 Grant Street, Utica, Venango County, Pa. Brice Steetle was present at the residence when the warrant was served. No other persons were present at the residence, and it appeared that no one else lived there.

During the search, authorities found a bag containing six individual plastic bags each containing a crystal substance that was consistent with crystal methamphetamine. Also found were four additional bags of crystal methamphetamine that contained various quantities, the complaint states.

During the search, a New England Pardner shotgun with a sawed-off barrel was found in the residence. Five additional firearms were also found in the residence – an Enfield rifle, Marlin Model 25N rifle, a Mossberg rifle, an HWM revolver, and a Mosin Magane rife, according to the complaint.

A Pa. criminal rap sheet for Steetle indicated he was convicted in 2007 of a felony count of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act, the complaint notes.

Steetle was arraigned at 11:51 a.m. on February 17 in front of Judge Kirtland.
