OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman is facing a hearing tomorrow on charges related to an incident in which she reportedly lied to police about her husband’s whereabouts while he was wanted on a felony arrest warrant.

Court documents indicate 34-year-old Christina M. Culver, of Oil City, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, on one third-degree felony count of Hindering Apprehension/Prosecution — Harbor or Conceal.

Culver is currently free on $500.00 unsecured bail.

The charge stems from an incident that occurred at an Oil City residence in early December of 2019.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, on December 10, 2019, Oil City Police traveled to a residence on Emerald Street to attempt to serve bench and felony arrest warrants on Matthew Culver.

At the residence, police made contact with Matthew Culver’s wife, Christina Culver, spoke to her about the warrants, and explained they were attempting to find Matthew Culver to serve the warrants.

Police said Christina Culver was already aware of the warrants and was advised that Matthew Culver was also facing new charges for burglary.

According to the complaint, Christina Culver told police that Matthew Culver was not home.

She then gave police consent to search the residence, and police found Matthew Culver hiding inside.

He was then arrested.

Culver was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.

The burglary cases against Matthew Culver are continuing to make their way through the court system.
