VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Hearings for two Ohio men who were reportedly busted selling heroin in Sugarcreek Borough are scheduled for today.

Court documents indicate 24-year-old Sedric Johnson, of Youngstown, Ohio, and 22-year-old Taqwan Scott, of Struthers, Ohio, are scheduled to stand for preliminary hearings in Venango County Central Court at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21.

Each defendant faces the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony (two counts)

Johnson also faces one misdemeanor count of Marijuana-Small Amount, Personal Use.

Both defendants remain lodged in the Venango County Jail with bail denied due to being flight risks.

The charges stem from a bust made in Sugarcreek Borough earlier this month.

According to a criminal complaint, around 2:10 p.m. on Monday, July 12, Sugarcreek Borough Police received a call from a confidential informant (C.I.), who the complaint notes had assisted with information regarding other drug investigations in the past. The C.I. called regarding three men outside a known business on Allegheny Boulevard who the C.I. reported were known to have sold heroin in the Sugarcreek Borough area. The C.I. also provided a description of two of the men.

According to the complaint, the C.I. then made contact with one of the men by phone, and the man reportedly stated he had heroin to sell. The man also said they were preparing to return “home” soon and were currently at the known business the C.I. had mentioned to police.

The complaint states that at the scene, Chief Bob Wenner called the same man’s phone that the C.I. had called, and a phone belonging to Taqwan Scott began to ring. Chief Wenner then went to speak to Scott and the other two men, who reportedly said they were from Ohio and were in town for the day.

One of the men, identified as Cedric Johnson, was found to be in possession of marijuana, and he was then taken into custody along with the other two men, the complaint states.

The complaint notes that upon their arrival at the police station, one of the men told police he “had some stuff on him.”

According to the complaint, Johnson then told police that the drugs and money found on the third man were his and that he had only asked the third man to hold them for him.

The complaint states the men were found to be in possession of approximately 5.4 grams of heroin and just under $1,000.00 cash.

Johnson and Scott were arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively, on Monday, July 12.

Johnson’s court documents also note he is wanted for extradition to Ohio, as well.
