Ecclesiates 3:4 ” A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

Jack A. Beebe, of Seneca, born November 20, 1928, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, November 21, 2019, one day after his 91st birthday.

He was born and raised at River Ridge Farm until drafted in the Army in 1950 to serve in the Korean War. Jack was a tank commander in the 73rd Tank Battalion until wounded. He returned home in 1952.

During his lifetime he worked as a machinist, salesman, business proprietor, and retired from PennDot as a road supervisor. Jack was featured in the Nifty At 90 series last year at this time. His favorite pastimes were wine making, hunting, and fishing.

Jack was recently honored at the Cranberry High School Veteran’s Day celebration. A 1946 graduate, he received the 3rd annual Cranberry Alumni award for his service. In May 2010 he received the Korean War Recognition Medal, and in May of 2017 he received The Ambassador of Peace medal for his service during the Korean War.

Jack married the former Jeanne Morrison in 1953. They shared many wonderful adventures over their 62 years together until her passing in 2015.

He is survived by his three daughters, Michelle Dumpe and husband David of Richmond Hill, GA, Susie Keefer and husband Ed of Lewes, DE, and Lisa Harry of Seneca; eight grandchildren, Dr. Jarrod Dumpe of Macon Ga, Megan Kenworthy of Torrance CA , Jaclyn Keefer of Milton DE, James Keefer of Cleveland Oh, Miriam Keefer of Lewes DE, Seth Harry of Pittsburgh, Katherine Harry of Pittsburgh, and Shay Harry of Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC; and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm at Morrison Funeral Home where full military honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard at 4 pm.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Heckathorn United Methodist Church where funeral services will follow at 11 am with the Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian officiating.

Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Heckathorn United Methodist Church.
