James E. Hipple

James E. “Jimmy” Hipple, 50, of Sligo, formerly of Chicora, a well-known area resident, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 27, 2018, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

James was born in Butler on November 2, 1967. He was the son of Mary M. Uenking Hipple of Chicora and the late James F. “Mole” Hipple. Jimmy was a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora and a 1986 graduate of Karns City Area High School. He had been employed by AK Steel in Butler for thirty years. Jimmy was well known for his quick wit, humorous stories, and light-hearted insults. He enjoyed camping in East Brady, a cold beer, and getting together with family and friends.

In addition to his mother, Jimmy is survived by his wife Danielle “Dani” Laughlin Hipple whom he married in Sligo on July 23, 2011. Also surviving are four children, Dylan Hipple and his girlfriend, Jackie Highland, of Odenton, MD, Paige N. Hipple and her boyfriend, Derek Heeter, of East Brady, Hank D. Murphy, of State College, and Emma J. Peritchard, of Rimersburg, a grandson, Carson Heeter of East Brady, his father-in-law and mother-in-law “Beaser” and Sherry Laughlin of Sligo, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dawn and Scott Mealy of Tionesta, Dustin Laughlin, of Rimersburg, and Darren and Billie Jo Laughlin, of Rimersburg, his nieces and nephews, Ryen and Dylen Mealy and Dallas Laughlin, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Kevin E. Hipple, who died July 21, 1986.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora – Fenelton Rd. Chicora, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, from the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Thompson, pastor of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, Chicora, officiating. Private interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
