HUBERTjohnlweaselJohn L. Hubert, 75, known to many fondly as “Weasel”, of Franklin died peacefully at 3:04 PM Monday, June 22, 2015 in UPMC-Hamot Medical Center in Erie with his loving family by his side; following a period of declining health.

He was born February 19, 1940 in Meadville, a beloved son of the late: John T. Hubert, Jr. and Madeline Virginia Compton Hubert.

He attended the Randolph East Mead schools in Guys Mills.

Mr. Hubert had worked in the trucking industry for various companies most of his life.

He enjoyed tractor pulls and camping with his family. A kindhearted and caring man, Mr. Hubert made long-term friendships easily and was always willing to help those in need. He will be remembered as a great mechanic who particularly enjoyed working on golf carts; and for his gentle presence by his many breakfast/coffee buddies at McDonald’s in Franklin.

Mr. Hubert was a longtime member of Jesse Greer Post# 1845 V.F.W. in Franklin and Station #4 of Cochranton.

Most important always was his family. He cherished the fun times he was able to share with them; in particular being a part of his children and grandchildren’s lives. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

He was married in 1961 in St. Hippolyte Church in Frenchtown to the former Dorothy E. “Dot” Paden, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, he is survived by three daughters: Kim Reisinger and her husband Dave of Titusville, Pam Peterson and her husband Ron and Bobbie Fulmer and her husband Mike, all of Franklin and by two sons: Randy Hubert and his partner Marilyn Lapp of Farrell and Mark Hubert and his wife Tammy of Seneca; in addition to four grandchildren: Brad Peterson, Evan Hubert, Karleigh Hubert and Gavin Reisinger.

Also surviving is his brother: Jeff Hubert and his wife Bev of Meadville and his sister: Karen Yokes of Erie; his beloved aunt and Godmother: Elizabeth “Betty” Kightlinger of Meadville and by longtime “special friends” Randy and Brenda Johns of Cochranton; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Ralston and Cynthia Mallard and by his brother: Eddie Hubert.

Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Family and friends may also call Friday 10-11 AM in the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church of Franklin; where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 AM with Reverend Patrick Daugherty, associate pastor of the church, officiating.

Private interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
