Joseph GronerJoseph A. Groner, 88, of Shippenville, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017.

Born on October 29, 1928 in Fryburg he was the son of Henry and M. Susan Zacherl Groner.

He was a graduate of Shippenville High School.

On September 1, 1989 to Virginia Mealy Motter Groner who survives.

He was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg.

Jospeh was affiliated with Zacheral’s Motor Truck Sales of Clarion for over 50 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of his lawn.

He is survived by his wife Virginia and a brother Edward Groner and his wife Mary Ann of Shippenville.

Also surviving are six stepchildren: Cathy J. Schill of Tionesta, Dale Motter and his wife Kitty of Siegel, Charles Motter and his wife Patti of Venus, Jodi Marshall and her husband Mike of Harrisville, Karen O’Day and her husband Johnny of Knox, and Gary Motter and his wife Julie of Tionesta. Fourteen step-grandchildren, nineteen step-great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Regis Huefner and Clair Bauer; and nieces and nephews surviving include Angelene McCloskey and her husband Doug, Pauline Hargenrader and her husband Perry, Kenneth Bauer and his wife Barbara, Kurt Huefner and Brad Huefner and his wife Cheri.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters Sister M. Suzsanne Groner OSB, Dorothy Bauer and Veronica Huefner, a niece Joelene Bauer, a niece Kris Fink and her husband Rodney and a step-grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Michael Church in Fryburg.

Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.

Memorials in Joseph’s honor may be made to Clarion-Forest VNA of Clarion.
