L Hoffman Obit PicLester “Dean” Hoffman, 83, formerly of Clintonville passed away November 5, 2019 at the Caring Place in Franklin.

Dean was born August 2, 1936 on the family farm in Clinton Township, Venango County to Lester Eakin Hoffman and Jessie A. Shreffler Hoffman.

Dean graduated from Victory Joint School in 1956. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force serving as a Nuclear Weapons Technician at Bosier Air Force Base in Louisiana.

Dean retired from Central Electric in 1998 after 36 years of service, he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville where he served as a trustee for many years. Dean took great pride in keeping his yard beautiful while living in Clintonville. He was a member of the Clintonville Lions Club for many years. Dean enjoyed working on the family farm, gardening and talking about his time in the Air Force.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children Julie Bruns and her husband Mike of Roanoke Indiana, Jennifer Karns and her husband John of Franklin, Joseph Hoffman and his wife Robin of Emlenton. His grandchildren Karly Bump and her husband Cody, Rachal Karns, Abby Hoffman, Haley Karns, Chad Hoffman, Kari Franklin, Eric Hoffman and Cody Aiken. Two great grandchildren Brody and Parker Bump. A brother Ronald M. Hoffman of Rocky Grove and his beloved Yorkie, Susie.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters JoAnn Schaeffer and her husband Raymond and Shirley Hoffman.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8.

Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Mark Frailey officiating from the Union Presbyterian Church.

Burial will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
