IRWIN TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A local man was injured in a crash involving a plow truck that happened on Hells Kitchen Road on Sunday night.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the accident occurred around 9:55 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, on Hells Kitchen Road, just north of Allen Road, in Irwin Township, Venango County.

Police say 22-year-old Jacob B. Butterbaugh, of Polk, was traveling south on Hells Kitchen Road in a 2012 Toyota RAV4, negotiating a right curve in the roadway.

A 2000 International Harvester, operated by 68-year-old Michael A. Shingledecker, of Stoneboro, was traveling north plowing snow.

Butterbaugh failed to maintain control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway and traveled across the center of the roadway and struck the front left of the plow truck.

Following the initial impact, Butterbaugh’s vehicle traveled past the plow truck into the west ditch where it came to a final rest. The plow truck traveled into the east ditch where it came to a final rest.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

Butterbaugh suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported.
