Man Accused of Burglarizing Local School Behind Bars

CORNPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Titusville man accused of burglarizing a Cornplanter Township school is behind bars.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the incident occurred as an unknown male entered Hasson Heights Elementary School located at 833 Grandview Road, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County, around 9:55 p.m. on November 18, 2020. The male stayed in the school until 5:45 a.m. on November 19, 2020.

While in the school, the male stole clothing, an iPad, and numerous other items, as well as vandalizing curtains.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the actor was identified as 44-year-old Jamie Allen Kinnear, of Titusville. Kinnear was contacted and detained by Titusville Police Department and was then transported to PSP Franklin on the evening of November 19, 2020.

Kinnear was arraigned at 9:45 p.m. on November 19 before Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland on the following charges:

– Burglary — Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, Person Present, Felony 1
– Burglary — Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
– Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1 (seven counts)
– Institutional Vandalism Education Facility, Misdemeanor 2
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1 (seven counts)
– Criminal Mischief — Damage Property, Summary (two counts)

Unable to post $7,500.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. with Judge Kirtland presiding.
