FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – A transient is behind bars on stalking, terroristic threats, and related charges after he allegedly tapped a knife on a woman’s apartment window in Franklin and threatened to slit his wrists.

Court documents indicate the Franklin Police Department filed criminal charges on April 9 against 24-year-old Phillip James Davis Jr., who is listed as a transient.

According to a criminal complaint, Franklin Police were dispatched to a residence on Arbor Circle around 9:43 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, for a report of a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order violation.

At the scene, police spoke with a known female victim who reported that Phillip Davis had just been at her apartment and was knocking on the door and demanding to be let inside. The victim said she had an active PFA against Davis, and he had been sending her messages via Facebook messenger, stating: “You will get what you deserve,” the complaint indicates.

The victim reported that shortly after messaging her, Davis showed up, knocked on the door, and covered the peephole so she could not see out of it. She said that Davis asked to come into the apartment, and she refused him and told him she had called the police.

The victim said Davis then popped out the screen to the front window and began tapping on the window with a knife. She indicated that she asked Davis to leave multiple times, and Davis refused and then stated that he was going to slit his wrists outside of the apartment if she did not let him inside, according to the complaint.

It was also learned that Davis had sent multiple messages to the victim via Facebook Messenger using “Vanish Mode,” the complaint notes.

Police were able to view a picture of a superficial cut on Davis’s arm and see various messages to the victim where Davis allegedly stated: “I knew you would be the end of me.” However, police were unable to preserve copies of the messages due to Facebook’s “Vanish Mode,” the complaint states.

Davis was not at the scene when police arrived, and the victim later reported that on April 8 (the following day) Davis called her another five times in a row, beginning at 4:00 a.m., according to the complaint.

Court documents indicate Davis was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 12, on the following charges:

– Stalking — Repeatedly Commit Acts To Cause Fear, Misdemeanor 1
– Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment — Comm. Repeatedly in Another Manner, Misdemeanor 3
– Defiant Trespass Actual Communication To, Misdemeanor 3

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on April 21 in Venango County Central Court with Judge Kirtland presiding.
