Man Injured in Suspected DUI Crash in Sugarcreek Borough

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police say a man was injured Monday night in a suspected DUI crash in Sugarcreek Borough.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the accident happened around 10:42 p.m. on January 18, on U.S. 322 just south of Pine Road, in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

Police say 23-year-old Dreux C. Harper, of Cochranton, was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer, traveling on U.S. 322, when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons.

As the vehicle left the roadway, it traveled along the berm of a ditch before striking an embankment and then rolled over onto its driver’s side and came to a final rest.

Harper was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to UPMC Northwest by Community Ambulance Service.

According to police, Harper was then interviewed at UPMC Northwest and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving.

Police say DUI charges are pending lab test results.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Venango Towing.

Rocky Grove Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
