Man Jailed on $50k Bail After Allegedly Assaulting Two Franklin Residents

Police LineFRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – According to Franklin Police, a Franklin man is in jail following an assault that occurred around 9:14 p.m. on September 27, in the 1100 block of Chestnut Street, in Franklin, Venango County.

Police say 34-year-old Eric Thomas Mix, of Franklin, allegedly entered a residence on Chestnut Street uninvited. He did so multiple times and was asked to leave multiple times. Mix allegedly threatened the homeowner and assaulted him.

After this assault ended, he went back to his residence on Chestnut Street, and after entering his residence, an argument ensued between him and a known woman. At this time, Mix allegedly began assaulting her, police say.

It was reported to officers that a male juvenile witnessed and intervened as they were arriving on the scene.

Mix was shortly thereafter arrested and transported to the City of Franklin Police Department.

He was arraigned in front of Judge Snyder on the following charges:

– 2 counts of Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– 1 count of Defiant Trespass, Misdemeanor 3
– 2 counts of Harassment – Comm. Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3
– 1 count of Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fighting, Misdemeanor 3
– 1 count of Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct
– 2 counts of Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact 09/27/2014

Mix was remanded to the Venango County Jail on $50,000.00 straight bail.

A preliminary arraignment has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on October 1 in front of Magisterial District Judge Michael D. Snyder.
