Max M. Serafin, 75, of 14 Hone Ave. Oil City, PA. died at 2:45 A.M. Monday Oct. 29, 2012 at the Oil City Presbyterian Home after a period of declining health.

Born in Oil City, PA on Dec. 11, 1936 son of the late Martin P. and Mary Siembida Serafin.

He was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph High School.

Max was a former Commissioner of Venango County, and had previously worked at Oilwell Supply. For many years he was the Club Manager of the Pulaski Club and had been a car salesman at Crivelli Buick-Pontiac.

In his earlier years He enjoyed the game of golf. He also enjoyed being a club officer for over 30 yrs for the Pulaski club and being a past vice president.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church.

Mr. Serafin was married in St. Stephens Church to the former Patricia A. Vogan on August 9, 1958 and she survives along with 6 children and their spouses…  Mary and Dave Adams of Beechwood, OH, Max C. ( Chris ) Serafin of Oil City, Theresa Davison of Oil City, Gretchen and Chuck Thomas of Wattsburg, Joseph Serafin of Jamaica, NY  and Rebecca and Kevin Clark of Waterford.

Max is survived by 10 grandchildren,  Abigail, Nicole, Rachel, Alex and Clare, Zachary, Katrina, Hannah and Olivia and Liam; the following siblings Frank and Judy Serafin of Menlo Park, CA, Helen & John Monagle of Juneau, Alaska and Sr. Esther Serafin of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mitchell Serafin, Thaddeus “Ted” Serafin and Joseph Serafin; and by three sisters, Cecilia Bednar, Sr. Martyna Serafin and Jane Serafin.

Their will be no viewing or visitation.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Oil City at a future date and time to be announced.
