VENANGO CO., Pa. — Terri L. McFadden of Rouseville is a candidate for reelection to a four-year term as Venango County Auditor.

She will seek a Democratic nomination in the May 16 primary election.

McFadden is a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and Clarion University. She is chair of the Venango County Auditor’s office, a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Society of County Auditors, and deputy secretary for the Pennsylvania State Association of County Auditors.

McFadden said she “enjoys serving the residents of Venango County, and considers her role of auditing, adjusting, and balancing the County’s finances very important to assure they are free from material misstatements, errors, or fraud and that the office submits the financial report to the state in a timely manner.”

She was a member of the Paralegal Assistant’s Club while attending Clarion University. She worked as a paralegal for many years, assisting in many types of legal transactions, including estate administration accounting, real estate transactions, bankruptcy preparation, as well as other types of civil and criminal proceedings.

McFadden was responsible for payroll, preparation of quarterly tax returns, accounts receivable, and accounts payable while working in the legal field.

The candidate formerly operated an income tax preparation business and was a Notary Public for many years.

McFadden has worked with high school and college students, both in the legal field and as an auditor, as part of shadowing programs where the students would observe and participate in the day-to-day duties of those professions.

She is a volunteer for the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences.

She began volunteering after her youngest son attended PGSS following his junior year of high school and she realized what an impact the program has on a student’s STEM education.

She volunteered for Oil City Area School District and Relay for Life, as well as other fundraising events for several years. She has also volunteered with animal rescues.

She and her husband, Joe, are the parents of two sons. Their oldest son will be attending law school in the fall and their youngest son is currently attending Robert Morris University, majoring in computer information systems.
