PA Fish and Boat Commission Appoints New District 1 Commissioner

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced on Wednesday its appointment of a new commissioner for District 1.

Dan Pastore of Fairview, Erie County, was confirmed as the District 1 commissioner, representing Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, and Warren Counties.

Governor Wolf’s five nominees were confirmed by the state Senate on Tuesday, June 18.

Charlie Charlesworth of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, was confirmed as one of two boating-at-large commissioners on the board.

William Gibney of Honesdale, Wayne County, was confirmed as the District 7 commissioner, representing Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties.

Eric Hussar of Lewisburg, Union County, was confirmed as the District 5 commissioner, representing Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union Counties. Hussar served a previous four-year term representing District 5 and served as board president.

Richard Kauffman of Leesport, Berks County, was confirmed as the District 8 commissioner, representing Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, and Schuylkill Counties. Kauffman previously represented District 8 for two years, filling the remaining term of a former commissioner who had resigned.

The commissioners will officially assume their duties after they have taken the oath of office. They are appointed to four-year terms.
