Officials Release Name of Deceased Man Pulled from Allegheny River

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Officials have released the name of the deceased man who was pulled from the Allegheny River yesterday morning.

Yesterday morning Oil City Police Department were called around 8:30 a.m. about a possible body in the Allegheny River near the Wye Bridge.

Officials say 26-year-old Ronald Jay Feely Jr., of Oil City, was pulled from the Allegheny River around 9:00 a.m.

According to Oil City Police Chief Robert Wenner, an autopsy by Dr. Vey in Erie was scheduled yesterday at the direction of Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh.

Oil City Police were assisted at the scene by Franklin-based State Police and Oil City Fire Department.

Chief Wenner told exploreVenango.com, “At this time, it is too early to make a statement about the cause of death. It is standard procedure for the Oil City Police Department to investigate every incident from every aspect to insure that a full and detailed investigation is completed.”

“A complete and detailed press release will be issued to all media….once the autopsy is completed, and the investigation is completed.”
