Oil City Boys Basketball Comes from Behind to Beat Redbank

Robbie VanWormer’s 18 point night helped the Oilers top Redbank Valley 53-47, securing a win over a formidable District 9 opponent.

Despite trailing 33-23 at the half, the Oilers went on a 16-2 third quarter run to seize the lead and hold on for the victory. VanWormer was hot from three, hitting four three pointers in the victory. Isaiah Aeschbacher had a nice game for Oil City, scoring 10 points and adding five boards. The Oilers’ Jake Hornbeck also had a strong performance, scoring seven points to go along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Redbank Valley’s Chris Marshall posted 18 points, and Bryson Bain also reached double figures with 12 points for the Bulldogs.
