Oil City Graduate Receives Eagle Scout Award

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – A local resident and Oil City graduate recently received the honor of the Eagle Scout Award.

Luke Kibbe McMunn, who previously received the Order of the Arrow in 2018, received his Eagle Scout Award on Tuesday, July 20.

McMunn’s Eagle Scout project was the building of seven wooden benches, with his fellow Boy Scouts of Troop 17, Oil City, for the Oil City Senior High Tennis Team. The benches are currently in use at the Oil City Senior High tennis courts.

McMunn, a 2019 graduate of Oil City Senior High School, also played high school football for four years, and made the Principal’s List once and the Honor Roll four times in his senior year.

He currently works for Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, in Cranberry Township, Venango County. He is enlisted in the Marine Reserves and plans to attend college in the future.
