Oil City Man Accused of Possession of Heroin; Jailed on $10k Bail

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Oil City Police say a drug arrest was made on Friday morning on Pearl Avenue, Oil City, Venango County.

According to police, around 7:41 a.m. on August 7, State Probation and Parole Agents, along with officers from Oil City Police Department, were on Pearl Avenue to check on Nicholas S. Ream who is on Probation/Parole.

While doing so, bindles of heroin were allegedly found in view of the agents, a search warrant was procured, and Ream was taken into custody, police say.

While searching Ream, incident to arrest, another large amount of heroin and large amount of cash were allegedly located on his person, according to police.

During a search of his room, more heroin and needles were allegedly located, police say.

He was arrested on the following charges:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony
  • Possession to Deliver Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
  • Possession to Use Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Ream was arraigned before Judge Lowrey and placed in the Venango County Jail after failing to make bail of $10,000.00, according to police.
