Oil City Man Accused of Stalking, Threatening Woman

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man is facing charges for stalking and threatening a woman.

Court documents indicate the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 32-year-old Nicholas Scott Ream.

According to a criminal complaint, a known victim reported that after previously having a relationship with Nicholas Scott Ream, Ream began to follow her, message her, and threaten her and her friends and family.

The complaint indicates the victim told police Ream had shown up at her workplace and home, and she had called police after he accosted her at work and refused to leave the property. The victim said he had also chased her down at a red light and blocked her there.

Several of the incidents occurred while the victim’s seven-year-old child was present, the complaint notes.

Police also spoke to a witness who was present during one of the incidents who corroborated the victim’s account of events.

The following charges were filed against Ream through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on December 3:

– Stalking — Repeatedly Commit Acts To Cause Fear, Misdemeanor 1
– Stalking — Repeatedly Communicate To Cause Fear, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment — Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3 (two counts)
– Defiant Trespass Actual Communication To, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment — Follow In Public Place, Summary

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on January 5, 2022, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
