OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Charges have been filed against an Oil City man who allegedly threw a woman into a door during an argument, causing injuries to her face and forehead.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department on January 11 filed criminal charges against 24-year-old Jacob Andrew Miller.

According to a criminal complaint, around 9:28 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, Oil City Police received a call from a known female victim reporting she had been injured in an incident involving Jacob Miller.

The victim indicated she had been in an argument with Miller at a residence on East Bissell Avenue, and Miller had picked her up in an attempt to carry her to the porch of the residence, the complaint states.

She told police she had kicked over a cup on a table while he was carrying her, which upset Miller, and he then threw her into a door, hitting her head and face. She indicated he then held her on the floor, and when she was able to get back to her feet, he shoved her again, according to the complaint.

Visible injuries to the victim’s forehead, cheek, and lip were noted.

Miller was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 11:15 p.m. on January 11, on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

He remains free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on January 26 in Venango County Central Court with Judge Kirtland presiding.
