OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City man was arrested on drug charges for reportedly possessing what he described to police as “fake fentanyl.”

  • Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor (two counts)
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia

Hilliard remains lodged in the Venango County Prison on $1,500.00 monetary bail.

His case was transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, Oil City Police were contacted by an agent from PA Probation and Parole who stated that they had found drugs during a check in accordance with their policies at a residence on Cornwall Street in Oil City, Venango County, at 3:04 p.m. on April 26.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers were met by the agent who stated that he/or she was at the residence to check on Daniel Hilliard. During their search, agents found a small plastic round container with a wax substance, the complaint states.

While searching Hilliard’s person, agents located a folded piece of paper that contained a tan powder. Hilliard informed agents that it was fake fentanyl, according to the complaint.

Hilliard was taken into custody by agents and transported to the Venango County Prison.

The wax substance was tested using a NIK narcotics field test. Test came back positive for THC, the complaint indicates.
