OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Police have filed charges against an Oil City man for reportedly making false assault accusations against a woman.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 44-year-old Daniel Lyne Pridemore.

According to a criminal complaint, around 2:29 p.m. on January 23, Oil City Police were dispatched to an apartment on Hoffman Avenue for a report stating a man had been stabbed by a woman at a residence on Plummer Street.

Police responded to the Hoffman Avenue residence and made contact with the alleged victim, Daniel Pridemore.

According to the complaint, Pridemore told police that a known woman had cut him with a box cutter on his left arm while they were having an argument at a residence located on Plummer Street.

Police then went to the Plummer Street address to speak with the known woman.

The complaint indicates the woman told police she was not at the residence when Pridemore’s injuries had occurred. However, due to there being a victim in the case, she was placed under arrest.

Police then conducted an investigation that included interviews.

According to the complaint, police saw a photo of the injury and observed there were two marks on the same injury while Pridemore had stated in the interview that the known woman only cut him once.

Pridemore also reportedly stated he was standing facing away from the woman in the kitchen when she had walked out around him to his right to leave the house and had cut him. The complaint notes if that were the case, then the woman could not have created the injury on his left arm where the marks were found. The marks were in a downward direction, the complaint also notes.

The following charges were filed against Pridemore through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on January 23:

– False Report — Falsely Incriminate Another, Misdemeanor 2
– Unsworn Falsification to Authorities, Misdemeanor 2
– False Reports — Reported Offense Did Not Occur, Misdemeanor 3

A preliminary hearing for the case had not yet been scheduled.
