Oil City Man Jailed for Allegedly Stealing Business Credit Card After Being Fired

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man is accused of stealing a business credit card after being fired.

According to court documents, the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed the following criminal charges against 24-year-old Albert James Conway Myers:

– Burglary — Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1

According to a criminal complaint, on Monday, February 24, Chief Robert Wenner, of the Sugarcreek Police, received a report from a known victim that their business credit card was stolen sometime between February 18 at 5:00 p.m. when the victim left work, and 7:00 p.m. on February 19, when the victim arrived back at work.

The complaint indicates that the victim found keys on her desk near her computer that Albert James Conway Myers had been asked to return after being fired. The victim also reported that when she was working on Saturday and noticed the card was missing, she called the credit card company and had it shut off and discovered transactions at local businesses.

The victim reported contacting those businesses, and one was able to identify the user of the card as “A.J. Myers.” The victim then contacted Myers about the theft.

According to the complaint, Myers told the victim he had the credit card and had used it. He allegedly stated he then lost his wallet and no longer had the credit card.

Myers was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25.

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
