– Reckless Driving, Summary

He is currently free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges stem from an accident that took place in Oil City in early December.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 10:27 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, Oil City Police were dispatched to the area of Petroleum Street and West First Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Police arrived at the scene and found a known juvenile victim on the ground being treated for injuries, the complaint indicates.

Police then spoke to a witness at the scene.

According to the complaint, the witness reported they had been behind the vehicle involved, which they noted had run a red light at Petroleum and West Front Street. The witness told police that the driver of the involved vehicle, identified as Eugene Raymond Olon, then went to the intersection of Petroleum and West First Street and stopped, even though the light was green.

The witness reported Olon then began driving again and struck the juvenile victim, who was in a crosswalk.

The complaint notes the victim was subsequently transported to UPMC Northwest by ambulance for treatment. Police later spoke with the victim’s parents, who reported the victim needed surgery from injuries that occurred during the incident.

Olon was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 1:25 p.m. on December 10.
