Oil City Police Seek Information on Attempted Vehicle Theft

oil-city-policeOIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Oil City Police say an attempted theft of a motor vehicle occurred around 9:43 p.m. on February 24 on Beech Street, in Oil City, Venango County.

According to police, the complainant reports seeing two white males in the alley behind his residence. He believes they were attempting to break into his vehicle.

The complainant stated “he confronted one of the males, and the male got into the passenger side of the vehicle. The complainant stated he jumped on the vehicle trying to get it to stop, and the car continued to drive away. The complainant said he feared there weren’t going to stop, so he jumped off. In doing so, he hit his back on a tree,” police say.
