Oil City Teen Transported to Hospital Following Weather-Related Crash on Route 227

OILCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say an Oil City teen was transported to UPMC Northwest following a weather-related crash on State Route 227 on Sunday afternoon.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the accident happened around 3:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, on State Route 227/Rouseville Road, just north of Fleming Road, in Oilcreek Township, Venango County.

Police say 19-year-old Lucas A. Lingo, of Oil City, was traveling north on State Route 227 when his 2018 Toyota Corolla made contact with slush on the roadway, and he lost control of the car. The vehicle then went off the east side of the roadway, continued north, and struck a ditch. It came to a final rest in the east side of the ditch facing south.

Lingo was transported to UPMC Northwest by Emergycare Ambulance for medical evaluation but reported no injuries.

He was using a seat belt.
