Oil City Woman Faces Aggravated Assault, Child Endangerment Charges After Man Attacked in Her Home

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City woman is facing aggravated assault and child endangerment charges stemming from a man being attacked at her residence in October.

According to court documents, the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 20-year-old Amber Domres in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on November 16.

The Oil City Police Department received a phone call from a known female on Friday, October 14, stating a known man is laying on her bed and bleeding from an assault that just took place at a residence on Hone Avenue in Oil City, Venango County. She stated that the victim could not talk, according to a criminal complaint filed on November 16, 2022.

Police responded to the residence and witnessed the victim laying on the right side of the bed and was “clearly assaulted.” Pictures of his injuries were then taken, the complaint states.

As investigators asked the victim what happened as he was bleeding from multiple injuries on his face. He was also lethargic laying on the bed. Clearly visible were injuries that included contusions, abrasions, and lacerations to his head and face, the complaint indicates.

According to the complaint, four individuals–Jerome Barber, Jerome Barber, aka Ja’Quan Smith or Jawan Smith, Giovanni Paolucci, and two other known men–punched and kicked him in the face and head. It was noted that Amber Domres was present during the physical altercation.

The four individuals finally began to retreat, and Amber Domres spat on the victim after the assault took place, the complaint indicates.

All of the individuals went downstairs and outside the residence, and a comment to a witness outside of the residence: “Your man just got his (expletive) beat and his head stomped on,” the complaint states.

Amber Domres then reportedly made a comment to the witness outside and asked her if she wanted her a** beat, as well, the complaint indicates.

The criminal complaint noted that two minors were under the supervision of Amber Domres, and she did not stop the physical fight from happening in her residence.

She was arraigned on the following charges at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 28:

– Aggravated Assault – Attempts to cause SBI or causes injury with extreme indifference. Felony 1
– Endangering Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 7 at 10:30 a.m. in Venango County Central Court in front of Judge Fish.

She is currently free on $15,000.00 monetary bail.

Status of Cases Against Other Defendants:

The Oil City Police Department filed the following criminal charges against 19-year-old Jerome Barber and 20-year-old Giovanni Nicholas Paolucci on Tuesday, October 18, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office:

– Conspiracy – Aggravated Assault – Attempts to cause SBI or causes injury with extreme indifference, Felony 1
– Aggravated Assault – Attempts to cause SBI or causes injury with extreme indifference, Felony 1

Barber was also charged with first-degree misdemeanor Corruption of Minors.

His charges were held for court and transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

He is currently lodged in the Venango County Prison on $50,000.00 monetary bail.

According to court documents, Paolucci is awaiting a preliminary hearing.

Charges against the other two individuals involved in the attack have not been filed as of Wednesday, November 30.
