GavelVENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City woman was held for court on Wednesday on felony drug charges from an incident where prescription mediation and suspected methamphetamine was found in a residence.

Court documents indicate 36-year-old Jessica Leigh Baker, of Oil City, was held for court on Wednesday, January 29, on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony (eight counts)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor (eight counts)
– Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (ten counts)

The charges have been transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Baker is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail on $25,000.00 monetary bail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:59 p..m. on January 17, Sr. Patrolman Culp was dispatched to a residence on Colbert Avenue to assist a Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole agent who had allegedly discovered what appeared to be prescription medications and requested assistance in identifying them.

The complaint states Patrolman Culp used the Drugs.com pill identification wizard application to identify the medication. He inspected a blue plastic “Clarion AAA” sipper pouch the agent had retrieved the pill from and found eight types of prescription medications.

According to the complaint, seven of the medications found were controlled substances. The pills were allegedly packaged in small ziplock baggies “as if being held for individual sale.” The complaint also notes there were no prescription bottles in Baker’s room.

The agent also turned over a “Reno” zipper pouch, which the complaint states Ptlm. Culp opened, with the assistance of Patrolman Drake, on January 18. According to the complaint, the Reno pouch contained a green and pink Brifit digital scale, a handmade scoop made from a plastic straw, five syringes, and two ziplock baggies of grayish-brown powder, weighed at 3.5 grams, that was suspected to be methamphetamine.

Baker was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 1:30 p.m. on January 25.
