Oil City Woman in Jail for Stealing Items from Walmart on Four Different Days

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City woman is behind bars on theft of nearly $400.00 in merchandise stemming from four separate incidents at Walmart in Cranberry Township. 

Court documents indicate that Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 60-year-old Nancy Ann Deeter on Wednesday, August 3, in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.

According to a criminal complaint, a Loss Prevention Associate for Walmart provided police with receipts and surveillance video to show that Nancy Deeter took possession of miscellaneous merchandise valued at $32.78 on May 6, 2022, at approximately 6:57 p.m.

Deeter then was caught on surveillance video stealing miscellaneous items valued at $358.47 on May 13, 2022, around 8:50 p.m.

On May 23, 2022, around 5:00 p.m., Deeter is shown on surveillance video, failing to scan numerous items and leaving the store without paying for them. The value of the items is $42.88.

Lastly, Deeter was caught on video, failing to scan $28.65 worth of numerous items on June 6, 2022, around 4:46 p.m.

Deeter was arraigned at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, in front of Judge Lowrey on the following charges:

– Retail Theft – Under Ring, Felony 3 (two counts)
– Retail Theft – Take Merchandise, Felony 3 (two counts)

Unable to post $2,500.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Prison.

A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, August 10, at 1:30 p.m. in Venango County Central Court with Judge Lowrey presiding.
