OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Competitive swimming has had a difficult year, but the Oil City YMCA River Otters have made the best of a pandemic swim season and had several swimmers qualify for the PA District Championship Meet.

Four swimmers broke team records this season.

The River Otters had 24 swimmers who qualified for the Virtual District Meet.

The York YMCA has created a Pennsylvania Regional Meet which will be held in person and will showcase the best swimmers in the state. The qualification times are similar to times that would be needed to qualify for the Pennsylvania State Championship.

Six swimmers represented the Oil City YMCA at a Junior Regional Championship Meet held in York, Pa., on March 12-14. Four Swimmers have qualified for the Senior Regional Meet on March 26, 27, 28.
