Oil City Man Arrested Following Alleged Attack on Pregnant Woman

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City man was arraigned on December 29 on multiple charges including Terroristic Threats.

According to a criminal complaint filed with Magisterial District Judge Dinberg’s office, Kelton Jamar McClarrin, 23, of Oil City, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly punching a pregnant woman in the stomach.

Previous to the attack, McClarrin allegedly brandished a knife and threatened to give her a “home abortion,” police say.

He then allegedly hit her, dragged her out of bed by the ankle, and repeatedly punched her in the stomach, according to police.

The unidentified woman was transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment.

McClarrin is facing the following charges:

– Aggravated Assault of Unborn Child, Felony 1
– Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary Offense

Unable to post the $50,000.00 bail, he is being held in the Venango County Jail.

McClarrin will have a preliminary hearing on January 8, at 1:30 p.m., in front of District Judge Dinberg.

McClarrin is also scheduled to be sentenced on January 3, at 9:00 a.m., in front of Judge Robert L. Boyer for an assault arrest from July 11, 2013.

He pleaded guilty to summary charges of Harassment and Disorderly Conduct, and a Misdemeanor 2 charge of Simple Assault was dismissed.
