Passenger Injured After Vehicle Struck by Pickup in Sandycreek Township
SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A local man was injured after the vehicle he was traveling in was struck by a pickup truck in Sandycreek Township.
According to a release issued by PSP Franklin on Tuesday, September 19, the crash took place at 7:59 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, on Pittsburgh Road, in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.
Police say a 2010 Ford F-150XLT driven by 84-year-old Willis W. Doiron, of Titusville, was traveling south in the left lane of Pittsburgh Road while a 2008 Scion XD operated by 57-year-old Julie S. Flockerzi, of Oil City, was traveling south in the right lane of Pittsburgh Road.
A witness’ vehicle was traveling in front of Doiron in the left lane and began to slow to make a left turn into a business.
Doiron failed to come to a safe stop before it would impact the rear of the Witness’ vehicle and left his lane of travel to the right lane.
When Doiron entered the right lane, he failed to ensure there were no vehicles, and it impacted Fockerzi’s vehicle as it was driving south.
Neither operator was injured as a result of this crash. However, Flockerzi’s passenger—58-year-old Eric A. Bain, of Oil City—was transported to Titusville Hospital by Community Ambulance Services to treat a suspected minor injury.
All occupants were using a seat belt.
According to police, Doiron was charged with a traffic violation.
