VERNON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Vernon Township Police Department, two women were life-flighted following an accident in the Dairy Queen parking lot, off State Route 322, in Vernon Township, Crawford County.

Police say around 8:00 p.m. on July 8, a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Kevin Francisco, of Centerville, was eastbound on SR 322, in the area of Shaw Avenue.

Francisco’s car crossed over both westbound lanes of SR 322, and then entered and passed through the parking lot of Days Inn.

It continued traveling east entering the west side of Dairy Queen restaurant and impacted a van that was at the drive-thru window, causing the right front wheel assembly to break free from the vehicle.

After striking the van, the car struck pedestrian Juanita Johnson of Meadville.

The vehicle finally came to rest against two vehicles parked in the Dairy Queen parking lot.

Johnson and Karey Davis, a passenger in Francisco’s car, were life-flighted to Hamot Hospital in Erie.

Francisco was treated at Meadville Medical Center.

The extent of the injuries of the individuals involved was not provided.

Police were assisted by PSP, Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Meadville Ambulance Service.

The investigation is continuing.

As of Thursday night, Johnson was reported in serious condition at UPMC Hamot.

Davis has been released from UPMC.
