OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Police say charges have been filed after an Oil City woman reported waking up to an unknown man inside her apartment watching her sleep.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 38-year-old Jason Miller, of Franklin.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:54 a.m. on May 2, Oil City Police received a call from a known victim who reported that she woke up to a short-haired older man in a blue hoodie and metal-rimmed glasses standing inside her residence on Central Avenue, staring at her while she was sleeping.

When police responded to the scene, they noticed a white Chevrolet Impala leaving the area of the residence with a male driver that matched the victim’s description.

Police then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The complaint states the driver, identified as Jason Miller, admitted that he had entered the residence in an attempt to meet another person that he had met on an online dating app.

Miller was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 2, on the following charge:

– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3

He remains free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on May 12 in Venango County Central Court with Judge Fish presiding.
