Police: Franklin Man Accused of Threatening to Kill Woman with Butcher Knife

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Around 4:33 p.m. on November 4, Franklin Police officers were dispatched to the Hasson Building on Liberty Street for a report of a female locked inside her apartment yelling for help.

Upon officers’ arrival on the scene, they found that the female was a victim of alleged domestic violence, according to police.

Police say 48-year-old Louis Westley Frady, of Franklin, had allegedly brandished a butcher knife and threatened to kill the victim.

He had allegedly physically assaulted her causing injury before fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle, according to police.

Frady was charged via Criminal Complaint for the following offenses:

-Aggravated Assault, Felony 2
-Terroristic Threats W/ Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
-Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
-Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
-Unauthorized Use Motor/Other Vehicles, Misdemeanor 2

Charges were filed through District Justice Dinberg’s office where an arrest warrant was issued for Frady.

According to court documents, a preliminary arraignment occurred around 1:15 a.m. on November 6 in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas I. Dinberg.

Unable to post $50,000.00 bail, Frady was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on November 13.
