Police: Hit and Run Reported in Cornplanter Township

CORNPLANTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a hit and run crash occurred on State Route 8, north of Rynd Hill Road, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

Police say around 1:35 p.m. on July 19, 48-year-old Terry W. Mong, Jr., of Rouseville, was traveling south on SR 8. His 2003 Oldsmobile Alero traveled off the wet side of the roadway where it lost traction in some gravel.

The car then traveled southeast across the southbound and northbound lanes and struck a guard rail, according to police.

Mong failed to stop and kept traveling south on SR 8 to his residence in Rouseville, police say.

He was not injured, according to police.

He was charged with a traffic violation, police say.
