GROVE CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Police are currently investigating the murder of a woman who was found dead in Grove City on Wednesday.

According to the Sharon Herald, Mercer County Coroner John Libonati said 53-year-old Gretchen Pallack, of Broad Street, was pronounced dead at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16.

Libonati reported that Pallack was found deceased in the residential area of a building that also houses Superior Bedding in Grove City.

Her death was subsequently ruled a homicide caused by head and neck injuries. The autopsy was performed by Dr. Eric Vey, a forensic pathologist at the Erie County Coroner’s Office, on Thursday.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Pallack’s death.

The initial call reached police around 2:39 p.m. Wednesday, reporting a medical emergency involving a 53-year-old man, whom police have yet to identify.

A news release from Grove City Police Chief Dean Osborne stated police then found a woman, later identified as Pallack, deceased in the building while tending to the injured man.

Peter C. Acker, District Attorney for Mercer County, also assisted in the investigation.

The male suspect, who is being treated at a hospital in Pittsburgh, is expected to recover, according to Acker.

Police have yet to interview the man.
