Police Investigating Incident of Gas Line Leading to Oil City Residence Cut

CORNPLANTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say an incident of Criminal Mischief occurred on Halyday Run Road, in Oil City, Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

According to police, a 60-year-old Oil City man reported that an unknown perpetrator(s), cut a hole in the gas line leading to his residence using a torch.

Upon arrival at the residence on Halyday Run Road, there was what appeared to be a burnt hole in the gas line leading from the roadway to the residence.

The incident occurred sometime between 12:00 p.m. on August 27 and 12:00 p.m. on September 22.

The investigation is ongoing.
