Police Investigating Stolen Dirt Bike Posted for Sale in Venango County

HAYFIELD TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say an investigation into a stolen dirt bike that was placed up for sale in Venango County is continuing.

On September 8, Meadville-based State Police were dispatched to a location on Birch Drive in Hayfield Township, Crawford County, for a report of a stolen black and green Kawasaki dirt bike.

The victim is listed as a 47-year-old man from Canonsburg.

Police say the local area was subsequently canvassed, with no results, and interviews were conducted.

According to police, during the investigation, it was then found that the missing dirt bike had been posted for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Venango County.

Two suspects, a 19-year-old male from Saegertown and an 18-year-old male from Saegertown, were then discovered and arrested for receiving stolen property, and the bike was returned to its original owner.

The names of the suspects were not released.

Police say the investigation into the theft is ongoing.
