Police: Man Cited Three Times Within 24 Hours in Butler

BUTLER, Pa. — Sources say Butler City Police cited a man three times on different occasions that occurred between September 17 and September 18.

According to a published article in insidebutlercounty.com, 54-year-old James Joseph Tiani, fell asleep around midnight on September 16 in the Butler City Police Station lobby. Police discovered that he was allegedly intoxicated and was jailed overnight in a holding cell.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, September 17, he was cited for Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, a summary offense.

Later on Tuesday, Butler City Police were called to Serventi’s Restaurant on South Chestnut Street in Butler. Tiani allegedly refused to pay his bill and was cited for Theft Of Services-Acquisition Of Service, a summary offense.

On Tuesday evening, police were called to Washington Manor Personal Care Home on South Washington Street in Butler.

According to care home officials, Tiani allegedly came to the home every day for the past week after repeatedly being asked to leave.

Tiani was arrested and cited for Defiant Trespass, a Misdemeanor 3.

His Preliminary Hearing for this offense is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on October 28 in front of Magisterial District Judge Peter H. Shaffer.
