Police Release Details of Cranberry Township Crash That Injured Two People

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police have released the details of a crash that injured two people in Cranberry Township earlier this month.

According to police, around 11:18 p.m. on July 6, a one-vehicle crash occurred on North Main Street just north of Allison Road, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say 44-year-old George L. McDonald, of Seneca, was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox traveling south on North Main Street when he went off the right side of the road for unknown reasons and struck a utility pole.

Following the initial impact, the vehicle continued to travel and short distance and came to a final rest off the right side of the roadway.

McDonald and his passenger, identified as 43-year-old Angela M. Swartz, of Seneca, were not using seat belts.

Swartz suffered injuries of unknown severity and was transported to UPMC Northwest by Community Ambulance Service.

McDonald suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, Venango Towing, and Penelec also assisted at the scene.

McDonald was cited for a traffic violation.
