Police Release Details of Mineral Township Crash

MINERAL TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police released the details of a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Jackson Center Polk Road on May 1.

Police say this crash happened around 8:19 a.m. on Sunday, May 1, on Jackson Center Polk Road (State Route 965), in Mineral Township, Venango County.

According to police, 45-year-old Darla L. Schaffer, of Stoneboro, was traveling on Route 965 and drove off the north side of the roadway. Her 2015 Dodge Dart struck a ditch at the edge of a residential driveway and then went airborne. The vehicle landed on its wheels and partially in a ditch, Upon landing, the car traveled a short distance and then struck another ditch along a driveway before coming to a rest in the driveway.

Schaffer was transported to Grove City Hospital by Community Ambulance Service for injuries of unknown severity.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

Lowry’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene of the crash.

Polk Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
