Police Release Name of Man Who Stabbed Woman, Committed Suicide

WARREN COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Warren-based State Police have released the name of the man who stabbed a Garland woman and then committed suicide.

Police say 50-year-old Charles T. Williams, of Garland, stabbed a 42-year-old Garland woman and then shot himself.

Around 11:30 a.m. on December 4, Warren County Control 911 notified police of a stabbing and shooting incident on Taylor Lane in Pittsfield Township, Warren County.

The female caller, a 42-year-old Garland woman, reported that she had been stabbed by Williams, and that he had shot himself, according to police.

State Police in Warren and Emergency Personnel responded to the residence and discovered the woman with a stab wound to her back.

She was flown to Hamot Hospital in Erie for treatment.

Williams was discovered deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.

The investigation is continuing.

There is no word on the condition of the woman.
