Police: Reno Man Had BAC of .108 While Driving at High Rate of Speed on Route 8

RENO, Pa. (EYT) — A local man is in hot water for allegedly driving recklessly while DUI on Route 8.

According to a release issued by the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department on Tuesday, November 29, officers noted a green truck operating in a “careless and reckless manner” along State Route 8 in Reno, Venango County, around 11:54 a.m. on Monday, November 14.

Police say the truck was known to police to be operated by Lawrence Lee Lux, 62, of Reno.

According to police, Lux was seen “spinning tires” along Route 8 and departing at a high rate of speed. Officers were able to close on him and noted that he was operating his truck in an aggressive manner by speeding, following the vehicle in front of him too closely, and making multiple lane changes without signaling.

Upon initiating a traffic stop, Lux was noted to have the odor of alcoholic beverage about his person, police said.

Lux performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI, police say.

According to police, lab results showed that Lux had operated a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.108.

The following charges were filed against Lux in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on Tuesday, November 29:
