Police Respond to Suspected DUI Crash in Sugarcreek Borough

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police responded to a suspected DUI crash in Sugarcreek Borough on Monday night.

According to police, the accident happened around 11:11 p.m. on Monday, April 12, on Pine Road just east of US 322, in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

Police say a known driver was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Prism, traveling east on Pine Road, when the driver lost control. The vehicle then went off the roadway and became lodged in a ditch.

The driver was not injured.

The vehicle sustained minor damage to the passenger side.

According to police, the driver, whose name was not released, showed signs of impairment during the investigation.

The driver was subsequently placed in custody and transported to UPMC Northwest for chemical blood testing.

Charges are pending the results of the toxicology report.

Lowry’s Auto Body also assisted at the scene.
